I am an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Smith College. My research interests are in development economics and environmental economics. I earned my PhD in Economics at Yale University in 2013. My research touches on the topics of climate change, adaptation, agriculture, irrigation, and migration, with a regional focus on India.
Through my research, I seek to answer some of the following questions. How easily will farmers in low- and middle-income countries adapt to climate change? To what extent can social protection programs cushion households from climate change? How does climate change affect migration and structural transformation? And, what are the economic implications of groundwater depletion?
